Directors

Dr. Timothy Keiper ‘s career as an educator began with teaching at the high school level followed by his tenure as Associate Professor of Education, Woodring College of Education at Western Washington University, Bellingham, Washington.
Christine Keiper is a former teacher of students who are Deaf and hard of hearing, a nationally certified sign language interpreter, and a former adjunct faculty member of William Woods University’s interpreting program. Tim and Christine have three grown children and, when not in Tanzania, live in Northwest Washington.

Tim and Christine came to know Wilson and Rose Lengima and the Maasai community in 2010/2011 when they lived in Tanzania. At that time, through a Fulbright grant, Tim was serving as a professor at Mt. Meru University’s teacher education program in Arusha, TZ . Wilson was a university student in Tim’s classes and research group.

Doug Traina, Treasurer
Doug is a long time businessman whose knowledge and skills ensure the excellent management of Maasai School 121 donations.

Terry Traina, Secretary
Terry brings to this project her love of East and South Africa and her experience as a volunteer in several African orphanages.

Angelika Wohlenberg
Angelika has lived with and served the Maasai of Tanzania as a nurse for 30 plus years. She speaks fluent Swahili and Maa and has been “adopted” as a daughter by a leading Maasai elder. She has established an elementary school, a secondary school, and an orphanage for Maasai children.

Brent Droullard
Brent is a businessman and former missionary with many years of living and working abroad, writing grants, and working with non-profit organizations

Ruth Droullard
As a former volunteer and missionary, Ruth has years of invaluable cross cultural experience in Asia and East Africa.

Amy Keiper
Amy is a teacher in Blaine, WA. Her cross cultural experiences include living in Costa Rica, volunteering with orphans in Mexico and teaching in Tanzania. Her love for children and learning brings energy to all she does.
